Thanks to the support from the Banca del Monte di Lombardia, which has sustained the Solisti di Pavia project since 2001, the new Pavia Cello Academy will be able to host a class of 8 cellists.
Each one shall have the opportunity to work in depth the cello repertoire under the guidance of Enrico Dindo as well as participating during the academic year in three Master Classes given by world renowned cellists.
In 2012 Antonio Mosca, Frans Helmerson and Giovanni Solllima were our guests in the beautiful settings of the Sala degli Affreschi at Collegio Borromeo. In 2013 Asier Polo, Gustav Rivinius and Antonio Meneses. 2014 Maria Kliegel, Rocco Filippini and Gary Hoffman, 2015 Young-Chang Cho, Massimo Polidori and Thomas Demenga. 2016 three pleasant return: Frans Helmerson, Asier Polo and Gary Hoffman.
The Academy aims to provide itself of a music library specific to the cello repertoire as well as researching for original manuscripts.
The City of Pavia thus becomes an International Cello Centre.
